This page explains what Naji Piano School collects when you use this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and how to ask us to delete it. We have written it in plain language and kept it to what the site actually does.
Naji Piano School
Naji Piano School is a piano school based in Edina, Minnesota. We teach one-to-one piano lessons in students’ homes across Edina, Minneapolis, Bloomington, Richfield and St. Louis Park, and at our studio at 7300 Gallagher Drive in Edina.
This website is www.naji.studio. It runs on WordPress and is hosted by SiteGround. Our email runs on Google Workspace.
Information you give us
When you ask about lessons
The inquiry form on our Contact page asks for your name, email address and phone number, who the lessons are for, the student’s age and piano experience, your city, the lesson setting and times you prefer, and anything else you choose to tell us. Only your email address is required. The form does not ask for your home address; if you choose in-home lessons, we ask for it when we arrange them.
We use this information to reply to you, arrange a trial lesson and stay in touch about lessons once they have started, by email, phone or text. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not add you to a marketing list you did not ask for. This website does not take payments or ask for card details.
When you apply for a job
Our Work with us form asks for your name, email address, phone number, which cities you would like to teach in, whether you have reliable transportation for in-home lessons, your years of piano-teaching experience, where you would like to teach (in students’ homes, in your own teaching space or both, with a few words about your space if you have one) and your availability. You must attach a resume. You may also attach a cover letter, give us a link to a performance video or your own website and describe your experience and teaching approach.
We use all of it for one purpose: deciding whether to invite you to talk to us about teaching here. It is never used for marketing, never sold and never shared outside the school.
Files you upload are stored in a protected folder on our server, not in any public part of this website, and they are not indexed by search engines.
Information collected automatically
Our host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read, how people arrive at the site and how often someone taps our phone number or email address or sends the inquiry form. It counts that a form was sent, never what was written in it. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and uses your IP address to estimate your general location, such as your city; Google says it does not store IP addresses in Analytics. We do not use it to identify you, we have not turned on its advertising features and it is not linked to any advertising account. Its data is kept for 14 months. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Videos on this site are embedded from YouTube using its no-cookie domain, which means YouTube does not set tracking cookies unless you press play. Once you do, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
If you close a pop-up offer on this site, your browser remembers that for 30 days so the offer does not keep appearing. If you choose the offer instead, it remembers that for 90 days. The note stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Children, photographs and names
Most of our students are children, and we take that seriously.
This website is written for parents and guardians, not for children. It has no accounts, no logins and no comment sections, so a child cannot create a profile or post anything here. When you inquire about lessons for your child, you are the person giving us the information, and we ask only for what we need to arrange a lesson.
If you believe a child has sent us their information directly, tell us and we will delete it.
We name a student only beside a recital video, by first name, and only with the family’s permission. We never name a student in a photo caption, in the text that describes a photograph to a screen reader or in a file name. Our review quotes use first names only where a family wrote them themselves in a public Google review.
Our recital gallery shows photographs and videos from our annual recitals, published with the permission of the families in them. Location data is stripped from every photograph before it goes on the site. If your family is in a photograph or a video and you would like it removed, email us and we will take it down. You do not have to give a reason.
Who sees your information, and for how long
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. Inside the school, it goes to Soroush and to the teacher we match you with, who needs your contact details and, for in-home lessons, your address. Outside the school, it is handled only by the companies that run this website and our email:
- SiteGround, which hosts the website and stores form submissions.
- Google: Google Workspace carries our email and Google Analytics measures site usage.
- YouTube, when a page with a video is shown (it sets no tracking cookies unless you press play).
Our pages also link to our Google reviews and to our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube pages. When you follow one of those links, that company’s privacy policy applies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it. Lesson inquiries are kept while we are talking to you and for as long as you are a family at the school. Job applications are kept while the role is open and for a reasonable period afterward in case something suitable comes up, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Server logs are kept on the schedule our host sets, and Google Analytics data for 14 months.
Asking for a copy, or asking us to delete it
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Email soroush@naji.studio and say what you would like. We will not ask you to justify the request, and asking will never affect your lessons or your application.
If you applied for a job and would like your resume deleted, say so and we will remove the file as well as the application.
How we protect it, and how you will know if this changes
This site is served over an encrypted connection. Uploaded files are kept out of the public part of the website. Access to inquiries and applications is limited to the people at the school who need it. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we take reasonable care.
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top of this page. If the change is a significant one, we will say so here rather than quietly amend it.
